About us

To tell you a little more about myself...My name is Michelle aka Shelly, Shell, or Shells owner and founder of Fur Keepers.  I have lived in the Winston area ever since I was in middle school. My favorite seasons are spring & fall.  My all-time favorite show is Grey's Anatomy. I enjoy helping others, shooting guns, yoga, cooking, traveling, camping, the beach, movies, doing research, problem solving, reading, painting, hiking, listening to music, as well as spending time with friends and family. I started Fur Keepers in Aug 2018 as a side gig for extra vacation $ and animal love. When we rescued Macy she was a "COVID" dog who wound up needing training, and I didn't know what I was doing; so we took her to classes and I fell in LOVE with dog training and decided to go to school.  I attended the 6-month Master Dog Training program at Highland Canine "The Leader in Global Canine Training" and graduated June 15, 2023. I'm confident I will be able to address obedience needs as well as problematic behaviors and that I have the skills learned.  I have a lifelong passion and love for animals.  Animals bring lots of joy to my life. Pets aren't my whole life...they make my life whole. 

Kerry, my husband, helper of Fur Keepers Pet Services has lived in the area his whole life except when he was in the Navy for approx. 9yrs.  He enjoys mostly everything I do except the research and reading part.  His favorite TV shows are Family Feud, Mike and Molly, and King of Queens.  He enjoys neon signs, golfing, cooking/grilling, gardening, fishing, jukeboxes, nearly all types of music, and the Beach.  His love and passion for animals and pets have been ongoing ever since his childhood.

Hello, my name is Mason.  My hobbies include racing, grilling, working on cars and being outside.  I work for Fur Keepers, where I have the privilege of caring for pets and providing them with the attention and care they deserve.  I have a genuine love for animals and enjoy spending time with them. Whether it's going for walks. playing, or making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while their owners are away; caring for animals is something I'm truly passionate about.  I take pride in treating every pet as if they were my own.

Hi, I'm Madison!  I enjoy concerts, shopping, having fun outside and being with my family.  I love all animals, especially dogs.  I will love and care for your animals as if they were my own.   

Hi!  I'm Cora, I was born in Yadkin County where I have lived all my life.  I spend most of my free time with my family and of course my fur babies, as well as enjoying concerts, and riding horses!  I am also a student at Surry Community College, where I am studying to be a veterinary technician.  I have worked with all sorts of animals for most of my life, whether that be training horses or interning at various vet clinics.  I have a true passion and love for animals and will always provide your pet with my best care!
